The SKILLs interns have been hard at work this year! As we near the end of the school-year, we will start to look ahead to next year, update resumes with new skills and seek out references for the future.
Let's Get Social!
Rolling Thunder Run Club
When: Sundays at 9:30am Where: Flushing Meadows Corona Park Rolling Thunder Special Needs Program is one of the first inclusive running clubs in the USA for all athletes. The organization is dedicated to providing challenged individuals with the opportunity to successfully take part in all levels of mainstream running, walking, or wheelchair racing. What else makes Rolling Thunder unique? The entire family can exercise and improve their physical fitness at the same time in the same place! The NYC chapter serves the families of all 5 Boroughs: Brooklyn, NYC, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. As the program continues to grow and gain athletes, practice locations will be rotated between Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. http://www.rtsnp.org/nyc.html This program is FREE! ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Last Friday, SKILLs students and alums attended “Show Up” at the Kraine Theater. The main attraction didn’t show up, but we still wanted to see a show! So, Pete decided to make one up, with our help. Students helped to write, direct and design the show!
YAI is offering free workshops in both English and Spanish about navigating the developmental disabilities system. You can register here. See below for more details.
