Happy Holidays from SKILLs!
Hi Students and Families, This afternoon we are celebrating a culmination of our holiday gift exchange and we're enjoying spending time together before we go on break. The party has light snacks, dancing, arts & crafts and games . We hope you have a wonderful break and we can't wait to hear all about it when we return! Katie Riordan, SKILLs Division Head Tis the season of giving!
Students came together this month and took time to think about others. In math class, the Mets, Jets and Giants classes organized canned food and sock/glove drives for those less fortunate. They also set up a stand selling hot chocolate, donating all of their proceeds to St. Francis Food Pantry.
The whole school participated in holiday shopping trips! During these trips students had the opportunity to buy a gift or a friend, family member or their secret person in the holiday gift exchange. Students will exchange their secret person gifts this Friday afternoon during the holiday celebration. Let's Get Social!

Hi SKILLs Students and Families! SKILLs is preparing for the holiday season! Each SKILLs class will have the opportunity to participate in a student gift exchange and to buy a gift for a family member or friend. Students that choose to participate in the gift exchange will learn who shopped for them at our holiday party on Friday, December 20. Be on the lookout for a letter being sent home with students that has more details! Katie Riordan SKILLs Division Head Find A MatchThis semester, the Yankees cohort began each class with an activity called “Find A Match.” Students used social information to learn about different things they may have in common with one another. During this time, students sat in a circle, were given a topic to respond to, and held their written/drawn responses up for peers to see (i.e. “Share one of your favorite rainy day activities.” "Share one thing that you love about yourself.") Find A Match provided students with the opportunity to express preferences and identify peers with similar interests. Let's Get Social!Let’s Get Social!
